Invitation

Dear Participants,

As the Association of Veterinary Microbiologists, we are delighted and proud to welcome you—our esteemed academics, researchers, industry representatives and companies—to the XVII. National Congress of Veterinary Microbiologists (with International Participation) (VETMİK 2026), which we will be organising in Ankara, the capital of our beautiful country.

As a result of climate change, nature, living creatures and microorganisms in our beautiful world are fighting a fierce battle for survival, just as they have done for years. Extreme cold, extreme heat, disappearing forests, expanding urban areas, shrinking wildlife habitats, microplastics, migration, and melting glaciers are all factors leading to the emergence of new microorganisms, different pathogens, new infections, changes in virulence and pathogenicity, varying sensitivities to antimicrobial agents, changes in prevention and treatment methods, and the exploration of alternative approaches. In this context, microbiology specialists in the sector face significant responsibilities and challenges.

We look forward to welcoming you all to our conference, where numerous studies of significance to human, animal and environmental health will be discussed, featuring distinguished local and international researchers who have made their mark in the sector through their important work, as well as company representatives who have always stood by us with their support. We invite you to join us to strengthen our bond with the Veterinary Microbiology Association.

We are deeply honoured to be visiting our Founder alongside you at Anıtkabir, his final resting place.

As the Conference Organising Committee, we look forward to welcoming you to Ankara.

Yours sincerely…

Associate Professor Dr Sibel KIZIL
Chair of the Conference Organising Committee
